Microsoft is making Windows 10 April 2018 Update available to all Windows 10 devices across the world, as this OS feature update has reached the final stage of the rollout.
April 2018 Update was first pushed to devices as a manual download-only on April 30, while on May 8, the software giant officially kicked off the public release. Just like it happened in the case of previous Windows 10 updates, the April 2018 Update was shipped to devices in waves, as Microsoft used this approach to collect feedback from specific sets of systems in order to prevent issues from hitting a bigger number of computers.

Windows 10 April 2018 Update can now be downloaded from Windows Update on all Windows 10 PCs, which means that Microsoft has managed to address the majority of bugs that might affect the upgrading experience.

There’s nothing else that you need to do to get the April 2018 Update, as the download will wait for you in Windows Update. A reboot will be required when the download is completed.

AI to the rescue
“Enterprise customers can also follow the same targeted approach for the Semi-Annual Channel and fully deploy Windows 10, version 1803 when ready.  IT administrators can decide when to broadly deploy once you have validated the apps, devices, and infrastructure in your organization work well with this release,” John Cable, Partner Director of Software Engineering, Windows Servicing and Delivery, explains.

One of the reasons Windows 10 April 2018 Update has become broadly available to customers so fast is the implementation of AI, which helped Microsoft discover bugs, suspend the rollout to specific sets of systems that might be impacted, deliver a fix and then resume the rollout much faster than before.

Microsoft says Windows 10 April 2018 Update is the fastest-adopted version of Windows 10, and the AI-based system has helped improve customer satisfaction and reduce the number of bugs substantially as compared to previous releases.
