Microsoft Wants to Make It Clearer How It Improves Microsoft Edge
New What's Next page published for users
Jan 31, 2021 18:34 GMT  ·  By Bogdan Popa

Microsoft is putting a lot of effort into getting Microsoft Edge right regardless of the platform, but at the same time, the company also wants everyone to be fully aware of the improvements it bundled with the new builds it receives.

So the software giant has now announced a new What’s Next page for insiders, all with the purpose of letting everybody know what’s coming to the browser.

“About a year ago we did one of our quarterly surveys and on it was a question asking what changes you would like to see on the Microsoft Edge Insider forums. The top two answers were better release notes and a roadmap of features coming soon to the browser. We have been working on improving the release notes and will continue to investigate changes that we can make to be more immediate and descriptive. For the roadmap, we are happy to announce that in addition to the Enterprise focused roadmap we have revamped the What’s Next page on our insider website,” Microsoft says.
New features coming to Edge

The page is as intuitive as possible, showing the new features supposed to come to Microsoft Edge, along with the current status (which will be updated regularly) and the target date when they could go live.

“This revamp includes a roadmap, in the same vein as the enterprise roadmap, but including almost all the upcoming features for Microsoft Edge. We published the first set of items there before the end of the year and will be updating with each Beta release as they come out. We hope that this roadmap will help you feel more informed on how we are evolving our browser,” Microsoft says.

Needless to say, this is something that comes in very handy to everyone out there using Microsoft Edge, especially as the software giant is working to improve the browser based on user feedback.

This way, we can all know if a feature we’ve requested is coming or not, and more importantly, stay up-to-date with its current development progress.
