Tarek,

I asked their people if it was OEM and he said it was not but is "lifetime." ... If you go over to their site and find their "voice-chat" help desk, then you can quiz them yourself. ... Since I consider you superior to me regarding such issues, I hope you find time to do this and post what you find here.

I sent them an email and will reply here when i get a response

I thought they sent you all details about the license and its type

Tarek,
I received a lot of details by email after I bought the license. This was at the head of the email:

"Microsoft Windows 10 Professional - includes a 1-PC, lifetime license."

To make sure it was not an OEM, I talked to them today via chat on their website. ... They said it was "not OEM." ... I did not know what else to ask. ... Is there any other kind of license for Windows?

Here I leave you some useful links with information about Windows 10 licenses
https://www.windowscentral.com/how-deter...windows-10
https://community.spiceworks.com/how_to/...windows-10
https://win10.guru/windows-10-digital-li...-transfer/
https://peakup.org/blog/windows-10-edition-comparison/

I also want to say that this type of cheap licenses that are sold on the internet may not be totally legal, the sale price of microsoft is one and only one, this is the case in the official micrososft store and in other computer sales stores, Maybe you can see a little cheaper prices, but never such great discounts.
on ebay, amazon and other digital stores there are licensing offers for 8,10,15,20 etc ... dollars.
But no license that costs less than 100 dollars can be totally legal.
They are usually licenses created with keygen, others come from Microsoft Msdn (they are licenses for development subscribers) and I don't know how many more methods they use.
These types of licenses work, perfectly, almost always, but it does not mean that they are legal for sale to the public.
If we do a check of our cheap license, possibly it says Retail, the Msdn licenses indicate this, but they are not for sale to the public.

there are other legal methods to install and activate windows
downloading Media Creation Tools from its official website
and creating a usb or dvd installation media.
once I do this:
method 1:
install windows 10 from scratch : any genuine windos 7 or windows 8 key can be entered at the time of installation, it will work.
(provided it has not been used for these purposes before)

method 2:
upgrade from windows7 or windows 8.1 already installed and genuinely activated with the official windows10 upgrade26807.exe tool.
(I think the latest version of this file will also work, just go here and select update now
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software.../windows10 )

There is also some more method, although a little more complicated
Microsoft has left some holes to continue installing Windows 10 totally free, legally and without using cracks or keygens.
In summary, if you want to install windows 10 from scratch, you only need your old key from windows 7 or windows 8.
if you want to upgrade to windows 10 you will need an old file of windows 10upgradexxxxx.exe
(I think the latest version of this file will also work, just go here and select update now
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 )

I forgot to say that if you are going to install from scratch with a key from a home version of windows 7 or 8 you should choose windows 10 home
if your version is professional or ultimate you should choose windows 10 pro

You should also know that once Windows 10 is installed and activated on your computer, you can always install it again.
on the same computer
without entering the license number (microsoft remember your computer)
just in case you change the CPU or motherboard it will not be possible
if you change the hard drive it will activate without problems

@eufrasiox: The solution is simple: buy the key and ask the support if the key is genuine (in this case Microsoft support).

For example, I purchased a key for Adobe Acrobat 2017 Pro, but I had the suspect that the license was bogus; so, I contacted Adobe support and sent them my key, and they said that not only the key was for a very old version, but it was also revoked.

Fortunately, I payed via PayPal, so I was able to get a full refund.

no need to buy or ask
There are two methods (and one more complicated) to activate Windows 10 completely free and legally.
why waste money and time?
I'm not sure, but I would say that those keys are not legal.
anyway, I insist, there are legal and free forms.

With these "cheapie" keys, what I personally find is that they do "register", but with a 3rd party KMS Server.
So, they are sold volume license, to that company, by Microsoft. So, MS allows updates, etc. All in order.
Example...Any Windows Enterprise is not sold retail, but, to a company in a Volume License, who sets up their own KMS Server, to manage key distribution and verification.
It is actually not legal to provide keys to anyone outside of the organisation. THis is where they grey area comes in.
THere is a loophole that you may use a KMS VL and create images for retail and OEM versions. Not the other way around, though.
But, the catch is that it, the receiving client, must be on the same organisational network.
What happens here, is that on the setup, they are now pointing these cheapie licenses to the 3rd party KMS Server, and not MS directly.

When you log into your "legit" Microsoft account, these keys do not display.

A problem can arise if the KMS is set to refresh every say 6 months. Then, if you cannot connect to the KMS Server of the 3rd party for this, then you will start getting warning messages that they key is not valid.

1)Explanation of different licenses
Retail license is allowed to be resold.
OEM license, not allowed to resell, unless you sell it with the original PC.
VL not for resell

2)How to check your license
[Image: h1JacHt.jpg]

3) Loophole in VL arrangement
[Image: 3AGHTJo.png]

4) There is also another license type that people use, called a OEM System Builder, where you may install OS on third party computers, and it will be retail versions.

@divinenews: I saw that you purchased a license: could you do what posted by tywyll2017 (using the slmgr -dli in cmd) to see if they are actually VL keys?

Thanks

I am sorry, Nicos18, but I have not had the time to install Windows 10 yet. ... My wife is very sick and I am having to take care of her alone during this quarantine, along with many other duties. ... I am coming online less than I have in years, mainly to order essentials from Amazon Prime and to check on this forum. ... I regard Tywyll2017 as a great personal online friend and an expert in the computer field as he is a professor of computer software engineering. ... I assume he is right whenever he speaks regarding his chosen field of study.

Maybe someone else has bought a license and can speak to this issue using Tywyll2017's method of verification. ...  Forum Administrator tarekma7 said in his post above that he had emailed them, Downloadcrewstore.com, and hopes to find out the specifics of the license.

There is over a week left of the offer, so maybe your questions will be answered before the end of this (controversial) opportunity.

Good luck to us all in these strange times.

Attention:

I just talked to their "live chat" person, Chris W. ... I told him of the controversy here on the forum. I asked him if these were legitimate Windows 10 "retail" licenses and he said they were exactly that, and "And you can transfer them between PCs at a later date."... It may be as tywyll2017 said, but I wish someone with more knowledge would go over and question him if there is any doubt so this can finally be resolved. ... Simply go over to https://downloadcrewstore.com/ and get on their live chat.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I copied my "Chat" with him below:

Are your Windows 10 licenses official "retail" Microsoft licenses? ... The reason I ask is there is a great controversy on my software forum about your sale which you can see here: https://www.promo2day.com/showthread.php?tid=34594  ... My wife and I bought two windows 10 pro licenses from you a couple of days ago and many of the "tech" people are saying that you are not selling "retail" licenses that will work consistently in the future when I need to reformat my hard drive or change computers. ... Many of the members of the forum want to come over and buy this offer but are afraid of what the "nay-sayers" are claiming.

Hi, if someone sells an 'OEM' it has to be advertised as 'system builder' and 'OEM'.
You cannot mix Microsoft's branding with false advertising.
These codes are part of this:

https://store.pcpro.co.uk/?act=news

The UKs biggest-selling magazine for pro users. You can't partner with Norton, Kaspersky, Microsoft and other brands and falsely advertise their products!

Another partner:

And another:
https://software.pcwelt.de/

I'm literally putting this together as we speak.
So, to answer your question, we work with some of the biggest brands in the market!
Downloadcrew is a 'BetaNews' brand (www.betanews.com)

This is very reassuring to me. ... Do you have an email address where the forum Admin could ask you specifics about this offer and you could address them? ... I believe you would get a lot of business if you would convince them. ... Or if someone in your company would come over and speak to this forum thread.

Chris W
I don't really have time to sit here convincing people - no kidding, this is our busiest month ever. I have enough issues with all the live chat questions.
We deal in the UK, US, DE, SE and more locations - crazy times

Thanks.

Can I say that you told me it was a legitimate "retail" Microsoft license?
Chris W
Yes.
And you can transfer between PCs at a later date

Thank you, Chris W. ... I wish you and those you love good health during these strange times. ... Bye.

Chris W

Thanks! You too. Bye!

Quote:Windows 10 Professional offer

Our Windows 10 Professional offer is proving popular, but we keep getting asked the same questions. So, here's a few answers to common questions:

What does 1-PC, lifetime mean? It means you can only install on one PC at one time, but the lifetime aspect means you can move and migrate to another PC at a later date. Just make sure you fully remove from your old system first.

Can I upgrade from Home? You can and it's super-easy. Simply go to "Settings > Activation > Change product key" and you'll be able to drop in your new Professional code and unlock the Professional features. No need to re-install Windows 10.

Is this is a download? Yes, all our software is supplied as a download, but we do give you the option to add an install DVD through the order process. The DVD takes between 7-21 days to arrive.

Will the activation code work outside the United States? Yes!
If you have any other questions, reach out to us on Live Chat.

Thanks for all the info @divinenews. I hope we have not caused any problems or inconvenience for you. For me, i was just asking as the price is very good for this license

My last word here:  when you have time, try to install windows 10 pro retail and activate. If any problems, you can have support

You can reinstall at any later time as Windows 10 activation is tied to your account (Digital license). When you reinstall windows for any reason, simple login to your account activate windows
