Three separate spam campaigns have been discovered this week pushing an updated version of Locky ransomware. The most robust of the campaigns involved over 13,000 emails containing .ZIP files with the emails subject line claiming to be a receipt. More interestingly it takes on a seasonal slant with 40 instances of the word “PUMPKIN” scattered within the code.
