Brazilian cybercrime creates method to clone chip cards

The United States has recently moved from the use of unsafe magnetic stripe to credit and debit cards for better protected EMI chip and PIN cards. It's a great step to increase transaction security and reduce fraud.

However, our researchers have recently discovered that Brazilian cybercriminals have developed a way to steal data and clone chip and PIN cards (four-digit password). Our experts presented their research at our SAS 2018 conference  .
