I heard a psychologist friend of mine say back in the 1980s that watching the local news makes many people paranoid and depressed. ... I now know many people who are becoming mentally ill from watching national and world news too much. -- I counsel them to focus on other things that they love and appreciate. ... In other words, as the song at the top of this post says, "Get back to the basics of love."
