If you get this call, don't say "Yes" or you'll get scammed
By Mark Jones, Komando.com  Have you ever gotten an annoying, unsolicited phone call from a company or someone you don't know? Many times they come at the worst possible moment, like when you're about to sit down for a nice family dinner.

There's bad news, though, some of these calls are going from aggravating to malicious. It's true, there are scammers making seemingly harmless phone calls, but you won't believe how they are using those calls against their victims.
How this phone scam works

The Better Business Bureau (BBB) is receiving complaints from people across the U.S. about the latest phone scam making the rounds.

What's happening is, people are receiving automated calls from someone claiming to be an employee of a certain business. Some companies they are supposedly representing are cruise lines, home security agencies, or social security firms.

The criminal begins the call with a simple, "Can you hear me?" Warning: Do NOT answer that question on one of these unsolicited calls. It's a scam!

If you answer that question, or any question for that matter, with a "yes," the criminal can use it against you. They are actually recording the victims' responses.

If they record you saying "yes," they can use it to claim that you agreed to certain charges. They then threaten to sue the victim if they attempt to deny the charges.

These calls usually show up with the local area code on the caller ID. This lets the victims' guard down, thinking it's someone local and they might know the person.
What you need to do

Police are urging everyone who receives a call like this to immediately hang up. It's not rude to hang up on a potential scammer.

This isn't the first time this type of phone scam has been seen. Last year, a similar version was going around with the criminal asking people questions like, "Do you pay the household bills?" or "Are you the homeowner?"

Taking advice from police is your best course of action here. If you get a call from someone you don't know asking an easy question where the answer is yes, hang up.

Caution is always the best action, especially in today's world!

Some errors might occur when deleting Kaspersky Lab products via Start → Control Panel → Add\Remove Programs (Add/Remove Programs). When you remove a product using the kavremover tool, license information is also removed. Make sure you have the license key or the activation code stored elsewhere so that you can use it again later.
 
 
  
How to use the tool
In order to fully uninstall the product, perform the following actions:

Download the archive  kavremvr.zip  and extract the files from it (for example, using WinZip). You can also download the executable file: kavremvr.exe. 
Run the file kavremvr.exe.
Carefully read the license agreement. If you agree with its terms, click Accept.


In the Kaspersky Lab Products Remover window, enter the code from the picture. If you cannot read the code from the picture, click the button next to the picture to generate a new code.
In the Following products were detected section, select the product you want to uninstall. Click Remove. If you want to delete more than one product,  products, remove them one by one You can select the product from the list of supported products:
Run the kavremvr tool via the command line in the manual selection mode with the nodetect parameter: 
kavremvr.exe --nodetect
Select the product you would like to remove from the list and remove it. If you want to install more than one product, remove them one by one. 


The removal process may take a few minutes. Wait until the notification on successful removal appears and click OK.
 

Restart your computer.
By default, a log file with the name kavremvr xxxx-xx-xx xx-xx-xx (pid xxxx).log will be saved in the folder where the tool is located. You can also find the full version number of the tool in the log file:

Microsoft’s market value has reached $500 billion on Friday after the company announced its financial results for the second quarter of fiscal year 2017, with shares also setting a new all-time high following the strong performance during the quarter.

Specifically, Microsoft’s market capitalization jumped to $510.37 billion, and this is the first time since 2000 when the value of the firm goes past the $500 billion threshold.

Previously, the Redmond-based software giant topped $550 billion 17 years ago, mostly thanks to the booming software market that had Microsoft at the core of everything on the modern computer.

In addition to the market value boom, the company’s shares also reached an all-time high, rising no less than 2.1 percent on Friday to $65.54 percent.

As Reuters reports, Microsoft has managed to beat Wall Street analysts’ expectations in seven of the last eight quarters, and every time, it was with Satya Nadella at the helm of the company.

Satya Nadella, the man to praise
Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella has been praised for changing the company’s focus from software to a wider array of products, including cloud and devices, which are already generating substantial revenue every quarter. Nadella’s mobile-first, cloud-first approach was first started by his predecessor Steve Ballmer, who wanted Microsoft to become a devices and services company, after previously conquering the software world.

And with Nadella at the helm, Microsoft has indeed expanded in new market categories. Revenue in Intelligent Cloud was $6.9 billion and increased 8 percent last quarter, while Azure revenue jumped no less than 93 percent from the previous quarter.

“Our customers are seeing greater value and opportunity as we partner with them through their digital transformation,” Satya Nadella, chief executive officer at Microsoft, said last week. “Accelerating advancements in AI across our platforms and services will provide further opportunity to drive growth in the Microsoft Cloud.”

Despite growing at a fast pace, Microsoft is still behind rivals Apple and Alphabet in market capitalization, as the two companies currently have a market value of $642 billion and $570 billion, respectively.

Masaya Nakamura, founder of historic Japanese games publisher Namco, has passed away at the age of 91.

Namco, which has since merged with Bandai, confirmed that Nakamura passed away on January 22.

After graduating from Yokohama National University, Nakamura founded Nakamura Manufacturing, a company that made amusement rides for children, in 1955. The business was later renamed Nakamura Amusement Machine Manufacturing Company, abbreviated to Namco. The company soon moved into the video games market, making legendary arcade games like Pac-Man and Ridge Racer.

In 2005, Namco merged with Bandai to form Bandai Namco, with Nakamura staying on as a chairman and supreme advisor of the company's Entertainment arm (via The Japan Times).

Two years later, the Japanese government awarded Nakamura The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette, for services to Japanese industry.

In founding what became Namco, Nakamura is undoubtedly one of the most influential and legendary members of the video games industry's history. GameSpot extends its condolences to Nakamura's family and friends.
