My previous hard disk suddenly corrupted and all information in it  was destroyed.and unfortunately i hadn't backup software such as acronis to backup from my important files and pictures and movies on extrenal hard disk.

Once after completing the windows update my system restarted and after that it stuck in boot because some files got corrupted and even windows automatic repair was not able to do anything. But I had already made a backup of my drive in external hdd using Acronis TrueImage WD edition which is free for WD hdd but with limited functionality. It saves my day and I didn't need to reset it.

My data loss story is very simple: I had never used data backup software at that time. For my careless there were some virus in my computer someday and my AV software wasn't powerful also. So my PC crashed and I had to reinstall OS meanwhile I couldn't get my important data in time. I was down in spirits. I think it would be better if I used data backup tool and a powerful antivirus :(

Thanks for the giveaway, asus73. I need Acronis in order to not pass through another unfortunate happening that make my holiday memories gone. This happened 2 years ago when I got a nasty virus that infected all my partition and made it unusable. I had to reformat and lost everything I got there.  :@

Thank You for this giveaway!I really needed this software . My dramatic loss of data happened only last November. I was going to do a clean install for windows 10 when I accidentally formatted both of my drives where all my important files were saved, It was too late for me to recover my data because I did not do an image backup, fortunately I was able to save some of it on my onedrive.

My data loss story was when I bought a new dell laptop and used it for few weeks. I installed and put all I had into the new shiny laptop and didn't think of any backup, since it's new and would not break down and it turned out, I was wrong. The drive collapsed and I had to get it fixed under warranty.....losing everything ::( Now 4 years later I am more careful.

I am actually going through a problem with my brother right now. he has a corrupted windows 10 trying get the anniversary upgrade. I told him beforehand to BACKUP! :@  he didn't... he is so sorry now. I told him he needs to buy  Acronis,it is the best one for Backing up. and he would have been back up and running in a few clicks.

Hi,
I had to send back my HDD 4 times during 1 year warranty. This happened when 3.5'' floppy disks were in common use as a "backup"/external data holder. As my hard disk was much bigger that floppies - I lost mostly all my data every time. Old times
